Christmas is Over...Back to Work!

Well, time to get my nose back to the grindstone and spend a little more time finding out how things work on the internet.  So far, it seems like its a fruitless effort!  I don't even get much response to my blog [boo hoo!]
But, what's the difference; I am continuing to learn...I think!

Making Myself Go To School...Again!

I have been trying to learn more about how the internet works, as far as marketing, and Facebook business pages go anyway.

It's going pretty slow but I am enjoying it...Just wish I wouldn't be so hard on myself....not really!

Where Did This Year Go?

I remember back when I was young; the summers were great and seemed to last forever; the years seemed to drag on and on and it seemed like Christmas would never arrive.

Later on in life I was involved in a couple of automobile accidents and it seemed like time stood still through the whole event.  Now that I am older, time seems to be going by so fast that it is hard to keep up with it.  In consideration of this anomaly I have come to the conclusion that when you are young your mind works very fast and time just creeps by, and the older you get the slower your mind works, and therefore the time just flies by!

The problem I am finding with all this is while time is going by faster and faster the things that I have to do seem to take more and more time to accomplish.  Like getting ready to go somewhere, or paying bills, etc and there just isn't enough time in the day to get everything done...I didn't used to have that problem.

Well...I think it took me too long to write this as well!  So, I need to get cracking...which probably means my joints will be the only thing cracking!

Created a Website Today!

I know that creating a webpage is no big thing for some people, but it is a really big thing to me!  While looking around my WordPress and found Joomla!, so I gave it a try and learned a little more about websites.  I will keep at it until one day … maybe … I will know what I am doing.

Work Day

Drat!  Sometimes you just have to work...sure interferes with shopping...at least that is what my wife tells me.

Other than that there's not much to report...

Sunshine! I Love It!

It’s a beautiful sun shiny day here and I thank the Lord, father God and His beloved Son Jesus, that I have life and life more abundant…I am so thankful that He found me and is saving my soul from destruction and hell.

Is it Winter Already?

I know that it’s not legally winter yet, so why am I already freezing?  I know that once I get cold I will stay that way until spring…it makes me wonder why I ever left Hawaii!

Still Hard at Work

Here I am ay my computer, once again!  It seems that I'm here from daylight to dark city every day trying to learn what makes the internet tick!  I have learned a lot in the past couple of months, but I think that I've only scratched the surface...in fact, I know that is all the further I have gotten!

Oh well, tomorrow is another day and I still have much of this day to go; so I had better get with the program!

Rainy, Rainy Day

Well, it's another rainy day and I am trapped in the house...again!  So, I will just sit here and look out my window, watching the leaves turn to a deeper shade of brown and then fall off the trees and cover the ground.  I know they are also trying to get in my pond, but I fooled them...I covered the pond with a net-like tarp!  A few leaves may creep in but next spring I will have less muck on the bottom to clean out.

Black Friday is upon us once again and as usual my wife disappeared sometime during the night!  I think she might be trying to find a frame for one of my paintings to give me for Christmas.  I'm not sure which one however , but it really doesn't matter...I consider this peaceful time as part of my Christmas!

Horses are interesting to try and capture on canvas because they have so many muscles casting shadows on their varied skin color and textures.

Hospital Visit

I took my wife to the hospital today for an upper GI esophagus-copy, which took us 3 hours plus 3 hours driving time, then we went out to eat.  The good news is that they found nothing wrong; the bad news is that the doctor told her to see her primary care doctor and see what she wants to do next.

Besides that she has been looking for a skin whitening product that will remove dark spots from her skin; it seems like more and more of these dark spots are showing up in many places on her body and she does NOT LIKE them.  AT ALL!  So, instead of running from store to store, I have been surfing the net...I have found some, at least one, promising product and I will keep up on it's progress here.

Hooray! WordPress Issue Solved

I have been having WordPress issues the past 3 days that have been driving me nuts!  I wasn't able to save changes and eventually found that the WordPress Firewall was stopping me from saving the change.  That knowledge didn't help me at all because I didn't know how to disable the firewall.

Today, I finally got help and found out that I had to go to the Plugins in WP to disable it...now, I am about to try it out.

I have also been waiting for my AdSense account to be approved...hope it happens pretty soon...I hate to bug them!

Broke and Pecking!

I know that everyone has been waiting patiently for the revealing of my broken limb x-ray...well, here it is!  You may want to copy it and make it into a nice picture to hang on your living room wall.  I know, I know...you really want to see my lab reports and other medical procedures as well, but I'm afraid you'll just have to do without those!

I broke my left arm a few weeks ago, so I have had to type one-handed...peck, peck, peck, which has been a struggle!  This was my first broken bone and hopefully it will be my last one...ever!  I am healing a little more each day, however and still thanking the Lord that I wasn't hurt much worse after falling about 12' onto a concrete slab.

Other than that I have been busy trying to teach myself the workings of the internet and hopefully make some extra spending money in the process.  I have discovered that I have become a rather slow learner.  I was finally able to promote an ad in the side column of this post...so, if you have dark skin spots, or just want to lighten your skin, just click on the link.

Struggling Along!

I am having a lot of trouble getting my first campaign off the ground but I think my Google Adwords has been approved because there was an email on my cell phone from them but I didn't open it for fear of it going away, so I waited until I got back to my desk to open it in my regular email account so I could store the information, but it wasn't there.  I looked on this blog site to see if I could find it...no good results!
Anyway it's a beautiful, sunny day here and I know that everything will start working soon!  It is a tough learning curve but I'm hanging in there!

Another Sunday

Well it's Sunday again and getting ready for church.  Later I will say happy birthday to Eddie, my oldest son and also wish Duane & Betti a happy 50th wedding anniversary.

Launching a Campaign

I am going to earnestly get my new profession off the ground today by launching my first campaign...so I'd better get started!

SMART phone? I don't think so!

I got a new Droid2 3 weeks ago and it has been driving me nuts because I couldn't edit my contact phone numbers, or add another number to an existing contact.  I had all these contacts transferred from my old phone to the Droid.
So today I called the Verizon store where I purchased it and was told that I had to contact tech support because she couldn't help me.  Really!  Tech support to find out how to edit a contact.
OK...I called support and the level one, very nice lady, had me do several things with no success and decided that I needed the next level of support.  About 40 minutes into the call I finally was connected to a Droid guru who informed me that the only contacts I could edit are ones that I have entered into my phone.  I explained that these had been entered into my old phone and transferred into the Droid...he said that didn't matter, while becoming more unpleasant by the second.  I finally gave up and told him that for a SMART phone the Droid was pretty STUPID and hung up.  Now I will slowly, but surely, delete all my contacts and then re-enter them into my SMART phone...what a deal!

Sitting here all day is hard!

I just accidentally created a new blog and don't know how to delete it...one blog is plenty for me.

So, I've been working on the computer all day long and ready for a break!  My new, self-appointed job is hard.  So, I'm looking at one of my paintings, wishing I was there!

Another day!

While bidding a job in Joplin, MO I made an amateur mistake!  I sent out bids to 11 general contractors without first checking the job specifications, actually they weren't available to me when I did the take-off, but fortunately one of the GC's called me and got me on the right page!  I'm thankful for that!
I re-submitted all the bids and now I have discovered that I am low so far - that's kind of scary!
